Namakkal is one of the District in Tamilnadu, India. There are many things to say about namakkal. First our people are hard workers and entrepreneurs. Yes our zone is having the highest number of poultry farms and Exporting eggs to various Arab countries. The NECC(National Egg Coordination Committee) southern zonal office situated in namakkal. The no.of LPG tanker lorries is highest in all over Tamilnadu. The All India Lorry Association Leaders are from this town. It is also an education hub in Tamilnadu both school and Engineering studies. Colleges like KSR, Vivekananda, Vertneri Science College are situated here. Vivekananda institute is one of the biggest womens college in Asia region, more than 15000 students are studiyng there. It also having a beautiful hill station "Kolli Malai"(Kolli Hills - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) with it. It is a very good place to spend the week end for our peoples. Our district is one of the fastest developing region. It is the first ISO 14001-2004 certified municipality in Asia for environmental management. The fort and the temples in the rock including Anchaneya Temple were built by Ramachandra Nayakar, a small king who ruled Namakkal 1200 years ago around 800 C.E.
